Croatia Gastro Experience: Private Become a Truffle Hunter For a Day - from Poreč and Rovinj

An early start is called upon in order for you to experience a day in a life of a truffle hunter! 

From Pula/Rovinj/Poreč, drive to the village of Mala Huba for a special experience of truffle hunting. Even though the best period for searching the white truffles is between October and December, the period between January and September is ideal for searching the black truffles which are a little bit of lower quality than the white ones. All the truffles are actually underground. However, they have a strong smell and trained dogs find them easily. 

After the “truffle hunt” experience of almost 60 minutes we shall return to the village of Mala Huba for light lunch and a wine tasting. If you wish, you are more than welcome to participate in preparing the truffle lunch with your local host, learn about different local ingredients or just sit back, relax with a glass of local wine or a truffle tasting beer and wait for your food! 

After the truffle hunting, we continue to Motovun, an astonishing architectural landmark. This hilltop town has preserved its Medieval ambience in its narrow streets within the town walls which have been preserved in their entire length. Walk along the Romanesque, Gothic and Renaissance buildings to the main square dominated by the 13th-century belfry of St. Stephen's church. Free time in Motovun is followed by a scenic drive back to your hotel.
